Understanding 100 Percentage Royalty (For Bestseller Authors Only)

Modified on Tue, 1 Jul at 4:28 AM

Overview

When we refer to "100% royalty" under the Bestseller Package, it means that the entire profit earned from your book sale is passed on to you, the author.

However, this does not mean you receive 100% of the book’s listed price on platforms like Amazon.

How is it calculated?

The final royalty amount depends on the following deductions:

  • Selling platform fees

  • Printing cost

  • Packaging & handling charges

  • GST

  • Distribution expenses

  • Return charges

  • Platform discount margins (usually 25% to 50%)

Example

If your book is listed at ₹150 on Amazon, your royalty is calculated as:
₹150 – (Printing cost + Platform discount + Fees + GST + Distribution & other charges)
You receive 100% of the remaining profit after these deductions.
